ABI 7500 qPCR System

The ABI PRISMĀ® 7500 FAST Sequence Detection System is a fully integrated system for real-time detection of PCR. The FAST system also allows for High Resolution Melting experiments (HRM). The system includes a built-in thermal cycler, a tungsten-halogen lamp to induce fluorescence, CCD (charge-coupled device) detector, real-time sequence detection software and high resolution melting software. Detection capabilities allow for SYBR, TaqMan and several other reagents applications. The 7500 FAST can process qPCR samples in 40 minutes (not including dissociation curve) with the appropriate chemistry. LBB maintains two ABI PRISMĀ® 7500 FAST systems. Please contact the core to sign-up for a specific time or schedule an instrument orientation. Please do not use the instrument without scheduling a time.


Users are responsible for all reagents and consumables. Access to the instruments is available daily from 8am to 5pm. Please contact LBB if access outside this time is needed. Web training modules which may provide further instruction on your intended application can be found at the Thermo Fisher website. Please note that the ABI FAST systems require a specific 96 well plate; failure to use these plates will cause the instrument to jam. Also, 8-tube strips are not recommended. 96 well plate AB: part number 4346906.
